THE Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Batch 2000 Silver Jubilarians will hit not one, not two, but three birds with one stone when it spearheads the St. Ignatius Run 2025 slated Sept. 28 at the Cebu Business Park.

The footrace was launched on Thursday, July 17, where organizers, led by SHS-Ateneo de Cebu Alumni Association President Afshin Ghassemi and Batch 2000 President Dr. Pierre Mella, discussed how they intend to make the event a memorable one.

"Our official hashtag is RE:UNITE In Motion," said Ghassemi. "The reason is it's not only coming together. We celebrate health, we celebrate wellness, we celebrate charity."

For the first time in the event’s 14-year history, part of its proceeds will be donated to a chosen beneficiary.

Ghassemi announced that the batch has decided to choose persons with disabilities (PWDs) as this year’s beneficiary.

“Our target is 8,000 runners that’s why we are promoting it as early as now,” said Mella. “What’s unique with this is that it’ll be the first time that there is an identified beneficiary. We want somebody to benefit from it when we run.”

Mella announced that those interested to join may sign up through https://myruntime.com/register/st.ignatiusrun2025.

Organizers are offering early birds rates. Those who will register before July 31 will enjoy a discounted rate of P750 for the 1K, P850 for the 3K, P1,000 for the 10K, P1,200 for the 16K, and P1,400 for the 21K.

Aside from the discounted rate, the race also offers a bevy of incentives for early registrants.

The first 500 registrants will enjoy an exclusive health incentive of their choice on a first come, first served basis - 100 slots for a free online consultation with Dr. Hana Ghassemi, a medical nutrition physician and sports nutrition specialist, 200 slots for a free orthopedic consult from Asian Orthopedics, and 200 slots for a free cardiac check-up and ECG from Dr. Ted Lee.

On the race day, exciting prizes will also be raffled off for all participants such as Shokz headphones, Oakley shades, Garmin Forerunner watch, and Fitness Nation Gym memberships.(CCM)
