TROPICAL Depression Auring has weakened into a low-pressure area (LPA) and exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) early Friday morning, June 13.

Based on the latest advisory from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), Auring formed as a tropical depression Thursday night, crossed parts of Taiwan, and weakened further before leaving the PAR.

Detected at 580 kilometers north of Itbayat, Batanes, the LPA is currently moving toward eastern China, though its trough may still bring rain over Batanes province.

Elsewhere, the southwest monsoon or habagat is expected to bring rain over Northern Luzon, while the easterlies and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) could trigger rain showers in other parts of the country.(Cristy Mae Montallana, PIT Comm Intern)
