THREE Filipino duathletes earned a trip to the 2025 World Games, which will be held in Chengdu, China this August.

Merry Joy Trupa, Southeast Asian Games triathlon champion Kim Mangrobang, and international meet newcomer Franklin Yee qualified to the World Games after putting stellar performances in recent competitions.

Trupa, who is ranked No. 83 in the world, finished second in the Asia Triathlon-Duathlon Championships in Manama, Bahrain over the weekend with a time of 1 hour, 29 minutes, and 16 seconds.

Mangrobang ranked third in the same tournament with 1:33:14. Chinese Lu Ziqing won the competition after reaching the finish line 52 seconds ahead of Trupa.

Yee managed just fifth in the menโ€™s side, but it was enough to send him to the Games.

The three duathletes are scheduled to fly abroad to undergo much-needed training for the Gmes.

Early World Games qualifiers are Rubilen Amit in billiards, the menโ€™s national floorball team, Hergie Bacyadan in kickboxing, and wushu specialists Carlos Baylon Jr., Thornton Quieney Sayan, and Agatha Wong.(CCM)
