TOP scorers, hometown pride.
Sixteen graduates from Cebu-based universities ranked among the top scorers in the March 2025 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LET), the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Friday, May 23.
Eight graduates from Cebu schools placed in the top 10 for both the Elementary and Secondary levels of the exam.
At the Elementary level, Bea Geraldine Ylaya Larobis of Cebu Normal University (CNU) and Juliana Mae Berame Magtagad of Cebu Technological University (CTU)–Main Campus tied for seventh place nationwide, each with a rating of 93.20 percent.
Other topnotchers from Cebu in the Elementary level include:
Ricamae Bentoy De Los Reyes (CTU–Carmen), 8th place
Jean Rose Mamac Lamela (CTU–Main), 8th place
Louiss Arctura Degamo (CTU–Main), 9th place
Mary Angeli Imperial Del Mar (CTU–Moalboal), 10th place
Rhea Nicole Muaña Hoyo-a (CTU–Main), 10th place
John Lester Rizon Tuazon (Salazar Institute of Technology–Cebu City), 10th place
In the Secondary level, Jeanlyn Guinita Colipano of CTU–Danao ranked first nationwide with a score of 93.80 percent.
Other Cebu graduates in the top 10 of the Secondary level are:
Lei Mykylls Semaña Fernandez (CNU), 6th place
Margaux Amatos Bailon (CNU), 7th place
Marie Jessa Lisondra Montemayor (CTU–Main), 8th place
Janine Napoles (Cebu Institute of Technology–University), 9th place
Geremie Fegarido Generale (CNU), 10th place
Nelia Soler Gutierrez (CTU–Main), 10th place
Sheen Sarsaba Montezon (CTU–Argao), 10th place
Nationwide, 55,029 out of 97,035 examinees passed the March 2025 LET, resulting in an overall passing rate of 56.71 percent, the PRC reported.
Bicol University–Daraga recorded a 97.12 percent passing rate at the Elementary level, while Philippine Normal University–Manila had a 98.98 percent passing rate at the Secondary level.
The exam was administered on March 23 in over 40 testing centers nationwide, including Cebu, Manila, Davao, Iloilo, and Baguio.
The LET serves as a professional licensing examination for aspiring teachers across the Philippines.(TGP)
