PREGNANT women and households with children aged 0 to 2 who are members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) are being urged by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Central Visayas (DSWD 7) to update their household profiles.
This is to ensure that they will be included in the rollout of the First 1,000 Days (F1KD) conditional cash grant, scheduled to begin next year.
The F1KD grant, designed to support households during the critical early years of child development, was proposed by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian.
It aims to address gaps in maternal and child health, such as inadequate prenatal care and nutritional deficiencies that can lead to stunted growth and developmental delays.
Director Shalaine Marie Lucero has called on 4Ps beneficiaries to update their information through their city or municipal links by completing the Beneficiary Updating System (BUS) Form 5.
The deadline for submission is October 20, 2024.
“The updating of household profiles is important to ensure that we cover all active 4Ps household beneficiaries with pregnant members and have children not more than two years old for the implementation of the First 1000 Days, or F1KD, next year,” said Lucero.
“We already started disseminating this information to our beneficiaries last month, and we need to ensure that no one will be left behind for this program milestone,” Lucero added.
To complete the process, 4Ps households must also submit required documents, such as a birth certificate or local civil registry for the child and a medical or health certificate for the pregnant member, issued by their rural health unit or barangay health station.
The F1KD cash grant, which is part of the 4Ps program, will be funded through a special provision in the General Appropriations Act for 2025.
The 4Ps, first launched in 2008 and institutionalized in 2019 through Republic Act No. 11310, has been a key program in supporting the education, health, and basic needs of identified poor households across the Philippines.(MyTVCebu)
