A CLOUD of uncertainty is hovering over the 2025 PBA All-Star Week.

The gathering of the league’s brightest stars is supposed to be held in Davao City next month, but due to security and scheduling concerns, the festivities have been postponed, PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial announced.

The reason for the postponement was relayed to the league by local organizers, Marcial said.

Marcial said the league is looking after the welfare of the majority, leading to the decision to postpone the much-awaited event, which was supposed to be held from May 1-4 or a week before the midterm elections.

Marcial disclosed that the league is exploring other possible hosts in the Visayas.

The PBA chief admitted that this year’s PBA All-Star Week could be scrapped altogether if issues will not be resolved within two weeks.

The matter will be discussed further shortly after the Holy Week, Marcial added.

One of the most anticipated events in Davao’s hosting of the annual festivity was the showdown between PBA stars and league players who are from Mindanao.
