EMPLOYEES of the Cebu provincial government are in for a merrier Christmas after the Provincial Board approved a P79.6 million supplemental budget which grants bonuses of up to P45,000.

Vice Governor Hilario Davide III led the session on December 16 where the board swiftly passed Supplemental Budget No. 3 on first, second, and third readings.

Governor Gwen Garcia expedited the process by certifying the budget proposal as urgent.

Board Member Red Duterte, a member of the Committee on Budget and Appropriations, announced that 1,285 employees—including permanent staff, casuals, co-terminus workers, and appointed personnel—will receive P40,000 in bonuses.

The bonuses consist of P25,000 from the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) incentive and P15,000 from the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI), as authorized by Administrative Order No. 27 issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

In addition, employees will receive P5,000 as a Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI), already allocated in the annual budget.

Job order employees, numbering 1,880, will each receive P15,000 as Premium and Gratuity Pay, in compliance with COA-DBM Joint Circular No. 2, series of 2020, as amended, and Administrative Order No. 13.

The bonuses will benefit employees from both the executive and legislative branches of the provincial government, as well as personnel involved in Capitol-run operations, including the north and south bus terminals and 16 provincial and district hospitals.(MyTVCebu)
