Senator Raffy Tulfo threatened to leave his top-rating program on TV5 if the management does not take action regarding a sexual abuse complaint hurled against one of the network’s program manager.

In the August 9 episode of “Wanted Radyo” Tulfo was infuriated over the network’s supposed lack of action after a 22-year-old talent/news researcher accused News and Public Affairs program manager Cliff Gingco of sexual abuses.

Tulfo was disappointed to learn that the management allegedly forbidden Gingco from speaking, as he intended to hear Gingco's side regarding the serious allegations.

The lawmaker later found out that Luchi Cruz-Valdes, TV5's News and Current Affairs vice-president, had advised Gingco not to speak on air.

Emphasizing the need for fairness, Tulfo insisted that the seriousness of the complaint warranted a fair investigation, regardless of Gingco being part of their team.

He stressed that the allegations needed to be addressed with the utmost seriousness and demanded to know the status of TV5's investigation.

"Dapat maging fair tayo. Hindi porke’t kasamahan natin, pagtatakpan natin. Dapat we have to be fair. Serious itong sumbong and we have to treat this seriously," he said.

The program "Wanted Sa Radyo" is known for addressing the grievances of ordinary people against abuse and exploitation.

Tulfo's frustration grew as he felt that the management was protecting Gingco. He declared his stance, saying that he could not condone such actions despite being a member of TV5 and having his own show on the network.(MyTVCebu)
