AN UNRELENTING Strong Group-Philippines kept its torrid run going as it blasted Chinese Taipei-White, 107-75, in the 44th William Jones Cup on Thursday evening, July 17, at the Xinzhuang Gymnasium in New Taipei City.

Strong Group improved to 5-0 (win-loss), tallying another win to keep in step with Bahrain, which is still unbeaten in six games.

A Strong Group-Bahrain duel is highly anticipated as it could serve as a gold-medal match. The team with the best record after the nine-nation field will win the championship title.

American import Tajuan Agee almost couldn’t miss in Strong Group’s dominant performance, going 10-for-12 from the field to finish with 25 points. The 27-year-old alsdo delivered six rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block in just 15 minutes and 32 seconds of playing time.

Agee dumped 11 of his total output in the first half, sparking a 22-9 run that gave Strong Group a commanding 61-33 lead at the turn.

Ian Miller added 13 points and three boards, while Javi Gomez de Liaño wound up with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds. Kiefer Ravena tallied 11 points and six assists., while Rhenz Abando and Dave Ildefonso contributed 10 apiece.(CCM)
