A mix of cloudy skies, intermittent rains, and gusty winds is set to affect much of the Philippines this week, with authorities cautioning about possible flash floods and landslides in vulnerable areas.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said no tropical cyclones are expected to enter or form within the Philippine area of responsibility over the next three days.
The current weather pattern is driven by a combination of a shear line, easterly winds, and the northeast monsoon, bringing cloudy skies, scattered rains, and rough seas in several areas.
Caraga and the Davao region are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to easterly winds, with moderate to heavy rainfall raising the risk of flash floods and landslides in these areas.
In northern Luzon, provinces including Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, and Quezon are expected to have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon. Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon will see partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated light showers.
Meanwhile, the Visayas, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, and most parts of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms brought by the easterlies. Severe thunderstorms in these regions may also result in flash floods or landslides.
Residents are advised to stay updated on weather developments and exercise caution, especially in areas prone to flooding or landslides.(MyTVCebu)
