Another batch of trafficked OFWs repatriated from Cambodia
A TOTAL of 51 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who were victims of human trafficking in Cambodia were repatriated on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2026, according to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
Prior to this latest group, 190 OFWs were also repatriated on Feb. 6.
Authorities were on hand to meet the victims upon their arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 aboard Philippine Airlines flight PR 2622 from Phnom Penh International Airport in Cambodia.
DMW Assistant Secretary Jerome Alcantara, along with DMW–Metro Manila Regional Director Falcony Millar, assured the returning OFWs of immediate government assistance.
Moreover, the victims will receive comprehensive support, including financial and welfare assistance from the DMW and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, medical services from the Department of Health, psychosocial support from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, and legal assistance from the DMW Migrant Workers Protection Bureau and the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking, a report by Philstar said.(Jovie Caton Jr., BiPSU Comm Intern)
