Bacoor lass wins Miss Philippines 2025
BACOOR City’s Joy Barcoma bested 35 other candidates to win the Miss Philippines Earth 2025.
Barcoma shone the brightest during the ceremonies at the Cove Manila Club of Okada in Manila in Parañaque City on Sunday night, August 10.
Last year’s winner, Irha Mel Alfeche, known as the only Asian woman to be included in the Top 12 of the Miss Earth 2024, turned over the crown to Barcoma.
Barcoma will be representing the Philippines for Miss Earth 2025, aiming to be the fifth Filipina to get the international crown.
Liz Mabao of Antipolo City was crowned as Miss Earth Philippines- Air, Angel Rose Tambal of La-Paz, Leyte for Miss Philippines- Water, Jaymie Strickland from Tallahassee, Florida for Miss Philippines- Fire.
Meanwhile, Kriezl Jane Torres from Talakag, Bukidnon was crowned Miss Eco-tourism 2025.
The 25th edition of Miss Philippines Earth hosted a reunion of its former titleholders including Yllana Marie Aduana, who was recently crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025 second runner-up and won the title of Miss Earth-Air 2023 held in Vietnam, a report by Inquirer.net said.
The Philippines is tagged as the ‘best-performing’ country in the Miss Earth pageant with four winners through the years— namely, Karla Henry in 2008, Jamie Herrell in 2014, Angelia Ong in 2015, and Karen Ibasco in 2017.(Theressa Faye Lacandazo, USC Comm Intern)
