Cebu rolls to 4th straight win in MPBL

THE Cebu Greats leaned on a strong team effort to chalk up another win, routing the Zamboanga Sikat, 96-77, in the SportsPlus Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) 2026 Season at the Caloocan Sports Complex.

Cebu stayed as one of the hottest teams in the league after nailing a fourth straight victory that hiked its record to 6-2 (win-loss).

Mark Meneses, Wowie Escosio, Paul Desiderio, and Simon Camacho all scored in double figures in the win.

Meneses collected 19 points, 11 rebounds, and two steals, Escosio tallied 15 points and five rebounds, Desiderio piled up 13 points and two rebounds while Camacho produced 10 points, six rebounds, three blocks, and two assists.

Dondon Hontiveros and Brian Heruela also made their presence felt in the convincing victory. The veteran duo conspired in a telling 14-0 that helped Cebu turn a 24-27 deficit into a 38-27 lead late in the second period.

Heruela scored just four points but dished off 15 assists while also tallying seven rebounds and two steals.

Hontiveros finished with seven points, three rebounds, and three assists while his son, Ice Hontiveros, chalked up seven points and two rebounds.

Paeng Are wound up with 21 points, nine rebounds, and four assists but Zamboanga tasted a fourth straight debacle to fall to 1-6.(CCM)
