CIT-U nips UV for fourth victory
THE Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Baby Wildcats stayed within the league leaders after they pulled off a 65-60 victory over the University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Green Lancers in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Season 26 secondary basketball tournament on Wednesday night, Sept. 30, at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Baby Wildcats improved to 4-1 (win-loss), creating a two-way tie with the University of Cebu (UC)-Main Baby Webmasters at second place in the team standings.
Leading the ankings are the UC-Lapu-Lapu/Mandaue Baby Webmasters and the University of San Jose-Recoletos Baby Jaguars who both sport perfect 4-0 records.
Shooting percentage wise, CIT-U and UV were almost identical in the tight match. The Baby Wildcats went 21-for-67 from the field while the Baby Green Lancers were 23-of-69.
Free-throw shooting as CIT-U was 20-for-33 from the charity stripe while UV made just nine of their 25 free throw attempts.
UV also had more turnovers, 22-18.
Mark Ivan Geraldez and Theo Maxim Santiago spearheaded the Baby Wildcats with 11 points each while Florence Lloyd Cawit contributed 10 markers.
Liam Terrence Chua and Jancy Llyco Ventura wound up with 10 points each to lead the Baby Green Lancers, who fell to 1-2.(CCM)
