Cook in Bohol accused of killing niece

AN 18-YEAR-OLD cook was accused of killing his niece in Barangay Doljo, Panglao, Bohol.

A complaint for murder was scheduled to be filed on Monday, May 11, against Elmo Lood, 37.

The suspect was implicated in the death of 18-year-old Jerose Lood, whose body was found in a grassy area with several stab wounds.

Maj. Sherwin Destora, chief of the Panglao police, said the suspect admitted the crime when he was turned over by his relatives.

Destora said the suspect was bothered by his conscience that forced him to own up the crime.

The suspect and the victim were neighbors. The suspect said he and the victim had a drinking session when they got into the argument.

The suspect admitted attacking the woman at the height of the argument, police said.

The suspect denied raping the woman, a claim that the police are looking into as the victim was naked waist-down when she was found.

The victim’s body will be autopsied to find out if she was sexually abused, police said.(CDB)
