What happens when you take away the one sense we rely on most

at the dining table?

At DID – Dine in the Dark: Mactan Cebu, guests are invited to find out.

Launching at Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu, DID offers the Philippines’ first immersive dining experience where guests enjoy a specially curated meal in complete darkness —encouraging them to set aside sight and experience food through taste, aroma, texture, and sound. More than simply a meal, DID is an invitation to slow down, explore, and experience familiar sensations in an entirely different way.

A Dining Experience Beyond Sight

From the moment guests enter the dining area, sight is no longer part of the equation. Without the ability to see the food on their plates, diners are encouraged to focus on the nuances of each course — the aroma before the first bite, the texture as ingredients meet the palate, the balance of flavours, and even the sounds that accompany the meal. The experience unfolds as a journey of discovery, with guests encouraged to explore and identify what they are eating through their heightened senses. Adding another meaningful dimension to the experience, guests are guided throughout the evening by visually impaired Guides, who assist with navigation and help ensure comfort and safety throughout the meal.

An Evening of Sensory Discovery

The DID experience includes a welcome drink, one amuse-bouche, and a three-course set menu, complemented by the guidance and assistance of the visually impaired Guides. DID – Dine in the Dark is priced at PHP 3,500 per person. The experience operates from 18:30 to 21:30 and can accommodate up to 38 guests per session. Additional beverages are available à la carte.

Leave Your Phone Behind

In a world where dining experiences are often photographed, filmed, and shared instantly, DID offers something deliberately different. To maintain complete darkness and preserve the immersive nature of the experience, phones, cameras, and other personal belongings are not permitted inside the dining area. Guests will be provided with secure lockers where belongings can be stored before entering.
