Eman Pacquiao takes loss in stride
EMAN Bacosa Pacquiao is keeping his head high even after falling in his first title fight.
The son of boxing legend Manny Pacquiao faltered in his bid to seize the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) lightweight title after losing Rodelyn Perez last week at the DRT Sports Complex in Muntinlupa City.
Pacquiao took the loss in stride as he vowed to come back strong from the debacle.
“It’s not about how many times you lose, it’s about how many times you get up. God is with us, thank you Lord!” Pacquiao said in a social media post.
Pacquiao actually defeated Perez via majority decision in their first meeting last October 2024.
Perez returned the favor by downing Pacquiao thrice in their rematch en route to securing the win.
Despite falling three times, Pacquiao managed to keep the fight close with one judge scoring the duel even, 75-75. The two other judges had Perez winning, 76-73, 75-74.
The defeat snapped Pacquiao’s eight-fight winning streak, falling to 8W-2L, 5KOs. Perez improved to 6W-4L.
Before the loss, Pacquiao had an impressive showing when he beat Indonesia's Reynold Kundimang via a fourth-round technical knockout in the undercard of “Kumong Bol-anon 24” on February 28, 2026, at the Bohol Cultural Center in Tagbilaran City.(CCM)
