Ex-con falls in Naga buy-bust

AN EX-CONVICT was arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Tinaan, Naga City, southern Cebu on Wednesday night, Feb. 11.

Louise Earl Ang Miranda, 23, was arrested by operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Unit and Naga City Police Station after he allegedly sold shabu to a poseur-buyer.

Police said 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P102,000 was seized from the suspect.

The suspect also yielded a .45 caliber pistol with three live bullets, police said.

Police said the suspect is an ex-convict but his previous case is yet to be confirmed.

Police added that the suspect was capable of selling 30 grams of shabu a week. He allegedly got his supply of illegal drugs through an inmate at the Cebu City Jail.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act and Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act will be filed against the suspect, police said.(AYB)
