FIL-AM singer Jessica Sanchez marked her return to ‘America’s Got Talent’ with a golden buzzer. She also came up with a surprising announcement.

The show featured Sanchez’s previous performance when she first joined and made it to the semifinal round during the show’s inaugural season in 2006.

Before the performance, the 29-year old singer shared her journey in America’s Got Talent, 20 years ago.

“AGT was the beginning of that fire sparked inside of me” she said.

After joining “America’s Got Talent”, Jessica then joined American Idol Season 11 and placed as first runner-up behind Phillip Phillips.

America’s Got Talent Simon Cowell asked Jessica with regard to her career developments since her first appearance in AGT 20 years ago.

Cowell left American Idol 2 seasons before Jessica joined.

"Throughout the years, I kind of fell out of love with music because I was really young and so swayed by whatever everyone wanted me to be," Jessica said. "Maybe it took me 20 years but I know exactly who I am and exactly what I want, so excited to be back." she added.

Sanchez is now married to her fellow musician Rickie Gallardo and is expecting their first child.

An unexpected surprise that shocked everyone in the room.

"This is the best thing that can ever happen in your life, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever. I'm very happy for you," Simon happily tells Jessica.

Jessica performed with Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things”, which amazed everyone in the crowd, including the judges, earning a standing ovation. Simon was among the judges who was impressed by her performance and gave her two thumbs up.

Judges were really impressed, giving Jessica heartfelt appreciation.

"I gotta say, 20 years is a long time, but well worth the wait," said Howie who shared his sentiments after Jessica’s performance. "You blew the roof off the place, you are so wonderful." Howie said.

Mel B was speechless, and complimented Jessica for having a voice of an angel.

Sofia Vergara added another surprise for Jessica by pressing the golden buzzer, making the singer emotional.

The Modern Family star told host Terry Crews why Jessica deserves the golden buzzer, and was later on joined by Simon giving Jessica another compliment.

"You know, to succeed, you've got to have real determination and talent," Simon said. "All those years of really wanting something and just going for it, it was like powerful, right? You're an absolute star."

The clip ended showing Jessica hugging her husband Rickie in the hallway and a final last clip of the younger Jessica when she first joined the America’s Got Talent. (Theressa Faye Lacandazo, USC Comm Intern)
