SEVEN Filipino businesswomen made it to Fortune’s 100 Most Powerful Women in Asia.
At 38th spot, h GCash President and CEO Martha Sazon is the highest-ranked among the seven Filipinas in the prestigious list.
The Philippine’s e-wallet giant posted a $5 billion valuation, championing customer-centricity that made g GCash a vital role in the Filipinos’ lives through easy electronic payments.
“Under her leadership, GCash has revolutionized in earnest the country's fintech sector, served as a driving force for financial inclusion, and empowered millions of users with easy access to digital financial services,” the company said in its Facebook official.
Sizon was followed by Robina Gokongwei-Pe of the Robinsons Retail Holdings president and CEO at 48th place; then Shell Pilipinas president and CEO Lorelie Quiambao Osial at 67th.
Anna Ma. Margarita Bautista Dy, CEO and President of Ayala Land ranked 73rd followed by Land Bank of the Philippines president and CEO Lynette Ortiz at 82nd; then Megaworld president Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso at 85th, and Filinvest Development president and CEO Rhoda Huang at 98th place.
Top powerful woman based on Fortune’s list is the Chinese-American tech entrepreneur Grace Wang who is the chief executive officer of Shenzhen-based manufacturer Luxshare Precision Industry.
Her company supplies electronic components for Apple like Apple Watches, and iPhones, among others with a revenue amounting to $32.8 billion.
Making it to the top 5 on the said list are Helen Wong of Singapore's Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp; Jap's Suntory Beverage and Food Makiko Ono; Macquarie Group’s Shemara Wikramayanake of Australia; and Mitsuko Tottori of Japan's JAL Group.
