Manhunt on for ex-beauty queen, coop official’s murders
A MASSIVE manhunt has been ordered to capture the assailants behind the separate killings of a former beauty queen in Isabela and an electric cooperative official in Oriental Mindoro.
The public has also been asked to help provide information that would lead to the resolution of the twin murders.
“Strong words of condemnation against these cowardly attacks are not enough, we will focus on identifying and arresting all those involved in these two killings in the interest of justice and the rule of law,” Philippine National Police chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a statement.
Lullete Jane Ramilo-De Guzman, a 32-year-old schoolteacher and a 2013 contestant in Miss Philippines Earth, was gunned down on Friday evening outside her residence in Barangay Cabaritan, San Manuel, Isabela.
More than 600 kilometers away in Oriental Mindoro, Tony Mendeja, 64, was fatally shot when he stopped by the road to inspect the light of his vehicle.
Mandeja served on the board of directors of Oriental Mindoro Electric Cooperative (Ormeco) for the towns of Bongabong and Bansud.
Nartatez ordered the directors of the police regional offices in Cagayan Valley and Mimaropa to conduct thorough investigations.
No suspects have been identified yet while investigtaors are looking into possible motives of the two killings.(MyTVCebu)
