Moalboal hosts Consolacion Tennis Club in one-day friendly tourney
MEMBERS of the Consolacion Tennis Club (CTC) and Moalboal Tennis Club (MTC) figured in a series of friendly games on May 25.
The friendly matches took place after some 60 CTC members visited Moalboal, marking the third time that MTC, headed by Moalboal Mayor Inocentes G. Cabaron, hosted CTC members led by its president Dr. Bimbo Villar and Councilor Dodong Rex Pepito.
Noel Grengia, who is also the MTC president and an incumbent town councilor, won the presidential game against Pepito and Emily Judilla, 8-7.
The two clubs played a total of 13 matches, with the visitor winning six times and two matches ending in a draw.
Among the locals who won were Atty. John Jephone Gador and Darius Redoble, who triumphed over their counterpart from CTC, 8-4. Redoble also teamed up with Jet Gador in a 7-7 draw with the visitors.
"We always welcome clubs who want to visit Moalboal and play tennis. It's a great opportunity to expand our community and to meet like-minded individuals who love the game," said Grengia.
Grengia and the rest of the MTC members are now mulling a visit to the Cecille Tennis Club in Lapu-Lapu City.(CCM)
