MART Justine Parilla fired a game-high 23 points and the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons barged into the win column by downing the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM) Baby Webmasters, 67-56, in the secondary division of the CESAFI Season 25 Basketball Tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Cebu Coliseum.

Parilla shot 9-for-18 from the field and also tallied six steals, five rebounds, and one assist, leading the Dragons’ bounce-back win after starting the tournament with a loss to the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguar Cubs.

Reyvene Arobo and Llouie Jay Estorba backed Parilla with a combined 17 points.

Dan Mitchell Ferraren scored 22 points, the lone UCLM player to score in twin digits as the Baby Webmasters remained winless after two games.

Yancy Montealto put in nine points and nine rebounds in a losing effort.

In the college division, the University of the Philippines (UP)-Cebu Fighting Maroons pulled off an upset when they nipped the UC Webmasters, 73-69.

Osias Andrew Padilla led UP’s breakthrough win by tallying 21 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.(CCM)
