PMI boxer Asilo posts dominant win in Loon card
GERWIN Asilo bounced back from strong from a sorry loss in Japan, pulling off a dominant win over Renoel Pael in the main event of “Kumong Bol-anon 26: The Prelude” on Wednesday night, September 9, at the municipal gym of Loon in Bohol.
Asilo of PMI Bohol Boxing Stable came away with a unanimous decision (UD) win with all judges scoring the bout for him, 79-73, 79-73, and 78-74.
With the win, Asilo improved to 13W-2L, 5KOs as the PMI Bohol Boxing Stable fighter rebounded from a fifth-round to Keita Nakayama last April in Japan.
Pael fell to 24W-19L-2D, 12KOs.
In the co-main event, Jericho Acaylar recorded his own UD victory, downing Alex de Quiros with scores of 77-75, 79-73, 79-73.
Acaylar, thus, stayed his spotless, securing a fifth straight win, including two knockout wins. De Quiros crashed to 5W-3L, 2KOs.
Sugarey Pores likewise pulled off a one-sided victory, beating Jelo Bacalso via UD. Scores were 77-75;79-73; 79-73,
It was Pores’ 10th win in 12 fights. He has six KO victories. Bacalso tasted his 14th defeat against six wins.
Not to be outdone was Dryx Sardalla, who thumped Anthony Galan via UD for his second win in as many fights.
The card, which was part of the highlights of the town’s fiesta celebration, was a prelude to the highly anticipated “Kumong Bol-anon 26” that will put Boholano fighter Regie Suganob against South African Sivenathi Nontshinga on September 12 at the Bohol Wisdom School Gym in Tagbilaran City Bohol.(CCM)
