Preparations in full swing for mammoth ‘Kumong Bol-anon 26’
EXCITEMENT is building up for the highly anticipated “Kumong Bol-anon 26.”
In what could be the biggest edition of the highly successful boxing series put up by PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions, the boxing show will feature the rematch of Regie “The Phenom” Suganob and former world champion Sivenathi Nontshinga of South Africa on Sept. 12 in Tagbilaran City.
The Suganob-Nontshinga duel is an International Boxing Federation (IBF) light flyweight world title eliminator which means the winner will earn a shot at Thailand’s Thanongsak Simsri, the division’s current champion.
To drum up the Suganob-Nontshinga card, the PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions, headed by lawyer-sportsman Floriezyl Podot, is putting up a four-card show in Loon town on Sept. 9.
The card will serve as one of the highlights of Loon’s fiesta celebration honoring Nuestra Señora de la Luz (Birhen sa Kasilak).
Loon Sports Coordinator John Carlo Palomares and PMI Bohol matchmaker Ronel Robles and PMI Colleges Sports Coordinator Edsel Burlas recently led the inspected town’s municipal gym where the boxing show will be staged.
Loon Mayor Cesar Tomas Lopez has expressed full support for the card.
Spicing up the card is a public workout showcasing Suganob and Nontshinga.(CCM)
