SEC Approves GCash Parent Mynt’s ₱92.3-Billion IPO
The Securities and Exchange Commission has approved the initial public offering of Mynt, the parent company of GCash, with the transaction potentially raising as much as ₱92.32 billion.
The proposed IPO consists of up to 1.61 billion primary common shares and 6.42 billion secondary shares. Mynt also has an overallotment option covering up to 1.20 billion additional shares.
The maximum offer price has been set at ₱10 per share.
At the maximum offer size, the deal would rank among the biggest IPOs in the Philippine market. Mynt is expected to have an initial market capitalization of about ₱668.96 billion once listed.
The company expects to receive approximately ₱14.95 billion in net proceeds from the primary share offering. The funds are earmarked for business expansion, product development and general corporate purposes.
Mynt is targeting an IPO offer period from October 6 to 12, 2026, followed by a planned listing on the Philippine Stock Exchange Main Board on October 20. The company intends to trade under the ticker “GCASH.”
The IPO includes both primary and secondary shares. Proceeds from the primary portion will go to Mynt, while the secondary shares are being sold by existing shareholders.
The offering is being made under the SEC’s updated rules on public ownership, which allow companies with exceptionally large market capitalizations to have a minimum initial public float of 12%.
Mynt has grown GCash from a mobile wallet into a broader digital financial services platform.
The app now offers services including payments, savings, credit, insurance and investments. Mynt operates through G-Xchange Inc. and Fuse Financing Inc.
The company’s expansion has taken place as digital payments and other financial services have become more widely used in the Philippines.
The planned listing would make Mynt one of the largest publicly traded companies in the local market by market capitalization, based on the proposed valuation.
Investors will be able to review the company’s IPO disclosures and offering terms ahead of the offer period. SEC approval allows the offering to proceed but does not constitute a recommendation to invest.
For Mynt, the next major step is the execution of the offering and its targeted October listing on the PSE.
