TNT explodes, dismantles Terrafirma
CALVIN Oftana waxed hot from the field and import Nick Hornsby turned in a solid debut as the TNT Tropang 5G routed the Terrafirma Dyip, 116-93, in the PBA Season 50 Governors' Cup on Wednesday night, Oct. 7, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Back from a three-month absence, Oftana exploded for 31 points–eight coming in the first alone that helped TNT take control.
Hornsby marked his first game in a TNT uniform with 26 points as the Tropa avenged their shock 106-111 loss to the Dyip in their first meeting.
Jordan Heading, Henry Galinato, Rey Nambatac, and RR Pogoy all scored in double figures and combined for 48 points in a massive offensive performance by the Tropa that hiked their record to 5-4 (win-loss).
Maverick Ahanmisi scored 27 points and Justin Strings tallied 25 for the Dyip, who crashed to 3-6. Juami Tiongson, usually a reliable scorer, laid a big fat egg in the loss.
