ONE final game will decide who will take the last NBA Finals.

This happened after the San Antonio Spurs took out the defending champions Oklahoma City Thunder, 118-91, to force a Game 7 in the Western Conference Finals on Friday (Philippine time), May 29.

Facing elimination, the Spurs started hot then finished off the Thunder with a back-breaking attack in the third quarter to send the series into a sudden-death Game 7.

Game 7 will be played on Sunday, May 31, in Oklahoma. The winner will earn the right to face the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals.

The Knicks easily clinched the first NBA Finals seat after sweeping the Cleveland Cavaliers in the East Finals.

San Antonio built a 35-22 lead after the first quarter and after allowing the Thunder to move within 53-60 at the half, the Spurs went on a decisive 32-13 attack in the third period to break the game wide open.

The telling third-quarter run saw the Spurs score 20 unanswered points as the Thunder were held scoreless for more than seven minutes.

Victor Wembanyama led the charge for the Spurs with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Stephon Castle added 17 points while Devin Vassell and Julian Champagnie chipped in 12 and 10 markers, respectively.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a meager 15-point output, enough to lead the cold-shooting Thunder.(CCM)
