A 43-YEAR-OLD man was arrested after he was caught sexually abusing a five-year-old girl in one of the barangays in Cebu City.

Police said the suspect admitted being drunk and high in illegal drugs when the abuse happened past midnight on Sunday, Jan. 18.

Police investigation showed an uncle of the victim who caught the man in the act of abusing his niece.

The relative then sought help from barangay tanods, who arrested the suspect and turned him over to the police.

Interviewed by reporters, the suspect said he used shabu worth P200 before he decided to break into the house where the girl was sleeping in a room.

The suspect sought fogiveness from the girl’s family but the relatives were determined to file charges against him, police said.(CDB)
