Boysen, SR&T set up championship date in CABC hoops

BOYSEN Paints and SR&T Industrial Supply arranged a title showdown after they dispatched their respective semifinal opponents in the Cebu Architects Basketball Club (CABC) 8th Corporate Cup.

Boysen and SR&T swept their respective best-of-three semifinal series, setting the stage for their race-to-two championship duel that will begin next week.

The championship date was sealed when Boysen Paints edged out Landlite, 74-72, and SR&T dumped Corr Chem, 87-73, last Sunday, Aug. 9, at the Game Changer Sports Complex in Mandaue City.

Lemuel Aspacio topped Boysen with a game-high 18 points and three rebounds with Carlos Baltar adding 12 points, 11 rebounds, and a steal. Kim Rebosura and Reddick Palmitos contributed 14 points apiece while Pido Sanchez had 12 points.

Luijay Boholano led Landlite with 12 points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal. Genre Soriano and Jhazriel Jumola contributed nine points each in the loss.

On the other hand, Dexsel Caadan tallied a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds to lead Landlite. Chester Hinagdanan tossed in 15 points, while Criz Matunog and Michael Judilla contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Leading Corr Chem were Jyrell Allanic and Miguel Cenabre, who finished with 19 and 17 points, respectively.

The championship series will start on Sunday, Aug. 16. Landlite and Corr Chem will play for third place.(CCM)
