Filipino pug triumphs in Australia anew
SEM Japet Enano continued to dominate Australian opponents as he scored another big win in the Land Down Under.
The 26-year-old native of Biñan, Laguna stunned hometown bet Tyler Blizzard with a seventh-round stoppage on Friday (Philippine time), July 10, at the Fortitude Music Hall in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.
It was Emano’s second-straight win against an Australian opponent after beating Tyrell Adams via unanimous decision in Melbourne last April.
“I want to thank everyone who supports me, my family and my team Sanman Boxing,” said Emano, the current IBO Oceania Featherweight champion.
The victory hiked Emano’s record to 9W-2L, 4KOs.
Emano was the busier fighter from the get-go, wearing down Blizzard with solid body shots.
With Emano dominating, the referee stepped in, halting the fight that saved the Australian boxer from more punishment.
“I will continue to work hard and reach my goal to be a world champion,” said Enano.
With the impressive back-to-back wins in Australia, bigger fights are in store for Emano, said Sanman Boxing CEO Jim Claude Manangquil.
“Great performance by Enano, Blizzard had no answer for him. We will have a bigger plan for Enano after two upset wins in Australia,” Manangquil said.(CCM)
