THE brothers of Senator Raffy Tulfo continued their strong showing in pre-election surveys.

In the OCTA Research group’s January 25 to 31 survey, ACT-CIS Representative Erwin Tulfo was voted by 70 percent of the respondents, who were asked whom they would likely vote for senator if the midterm elections were held during the conduct of the survey.

Trailing Erwin was his brother Ben, who got 60 percent of the votes.

Following the Tulfo brothers were Senator Bong Go (58 percent), former Senate President Vicente Sotto III (52 percent), Senator Bong Revilla (49 percent), television host Willie Revillame (48 percent), and former Senator Panfilo Lacson (48 percent).

Completing the so-called “Magic 12” were Senator Pia Cayetano (46 percent), former Senator Manny Pacquiao (45 percent), Senator Imee Marcos (44 percent), Senator Lito Lapid (43 percent), and former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos (39 percent).

Other Senate hopefuls who have statistical chance of making it to the Magic 12 are Senator Francis Tolentino (38 percent), outgoing Makati Mayor Abby Binay (37 percent), Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar (36 percent), Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa (36 percent), as well as former Senators Francis Pangilinan (28 percent), and Gregorio Honasan (26 percent).

A total of 1,200 respondents participated in OCTA’s non-commissioned nationwide survey. With a margin of error of ±3 percent, the survey allowed the respondents to choose up to 12 candidates, a report by the Philippine News Agency stated.(Rey Martin Rio, USJ-R Comm Intern)
